Phenk dijiye aapki washing machine ...

aur ghar laaiye ... This ad used to air repeatedly on television, in the era when my cousins and I watched Hum Paanch regularly and jhanjariya, sheher ki ladki and Kya ada kya jalwe tere Paro! were on everyone's lips.

I have been thinking of this ad for the past few days. Once you've got nothing major to do, life becomes a drag, no matter how much you thought you'd want this freedom when you were hyperventilating about everything you were busy with.

Then you wanted to 'ghar laaiye naya JVG home wash' or whatever that detergent was. You needed an F5 on life, (roohafza?) Then dams broke and the air cleared, nagging thoughts were left behind.

Then we made a plan, something that had been on my mind for a long, long time. Last month of college, needed to forge some memories. So off we went, it was a rare cloudy day and in many ways - an unforgettable experience.

Then I came up with an idea to simulate an amusement park type entertainment in my won room! I shall not tell you what it was, I shall get it patented ;) That upped the happiness quotient even more ...

And then, and then ... to top the cherry on the icing on the cake, IT RAINED. Oh and yeah, I hadn't screamed or shouted in a long, long time and the scream buffer finally exploded with all that pressure. Seeing the first drop was absolute ecstasy.

A la Chandler, of course he said 'gum' but I say, rajma roti would be perfection.

I don't remember being this exhilarated in a long time. Alhamdulillah, naya home wash ghar aa gaya.
