From Steve Jobs' commencement address at Stanford University

No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life's change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

Quite an inspiring speech.

hmm .. interesting.
Not going by the deep underlining idea, there is no life after death. so heaven is like a bonus module, which they didnt code till now.
AND
'Stay hungry. Stay foolish'
reverse is not true, eg. Me :p or maybe it is, as i am always hungry :D

the best part is that the text doesnt sound subjective or judgemental

Steve Jobs didn't really say 'follow your heart'. I thought the most important overall message that he put accross was

1. Find out what you like to do
2. 'do not give up'
3. Wait for the best.. do not settle for less.

The complete address deserves a read.

"Your time is limited", not a great way to inspire people. Thank god he is in software industry and not heading any military battalion in Iraq.

playboi, yeah ... you could be write by the bonus module if you're talking about the human point of view .. and if you'er talking from the god point of view, eternity is a second for him. If this is too much fundae for you, skip it! :D

burf, yup, you're right.

darth vader, you can follow your heart and still be rational about it :), its like trying to turn your dream into reality by taking constructive (rational) steps at a time :)

Zebbie, right on! :)

dodo, who else had it? I haven't noticed anybody :-/

Zubbie, was it really a coincidence?? Or could you have subconsciously picked it up? :-? :D

i COULD have very very SUBconciously picked it up.. that would be amazing! Unfortunately we have no way to find out the truth. Meanwhile my apologies for plagiarising your lovely words.. i pray for your benevolent forgiveness lady!
